Millicent (Millie) Lippert was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Before graduating high school, Millie stayed very busy and was involved in softball, dance, vocal arts, piano and theatre. She attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she earned a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with an Early Childhood focus (2013) and then obtained a Masters in Education and Human Resource Studies (Early Childhood Education) in 2014.
Ms. Millie began caring for and teaching children at an early age. Starting with babysitting, employment at a Colorado Springs daycare center (12 months to 13 years), which then lead to practicums, internships, student teaching (kindergarten and an intergraded preschool), literacy tutoring (pre-k & kindergarten), and assistant teacher positions in Reggio Emilio infant and toddler classrooms. In the summer of 2014, she received a Colorado Teaching License as well as obtained a Substitute Teaching License.
In August of 2014, Millie began working at a private Montessori school as an Assistant Kindergarten Teacher/Group Lead. One year later, she was promoted to Lead Montessori Directress in the Kindergarten classroom. During that time, she completed the North American Montessori Center Diploma Program for preschool/ kindergarten ages. Ms. Millie is also CPR, AED and First Aid certified.
She enjoys spending as much time as she can with family and friends. Millie loves teaching young children and creating new material for the classroom. She enjoys singing, yoga, dancing, playing piano, cooking, and outside activities in her free time. She looks forward to traveling and seeing major theatre productions.
The 2017-2018 school year will be her first year as a Childcare Director and Program Coordinator at Free Horizon Montessori.
